My first entry for LBMVeterans.

The challenge was to make a day and night outfit inspired by a building, structure or architectural style. My inspiration is the Casa Batllo in Barcelona designed by Antoni Gaudi. www.gaudidesigner.com/data/art… photo.net/philg/digiphotos/200…

DESCRIBTION:

For the NIGHT LOOK I decided to make a ball outfit inspired by the balconies of the building which represent Venetian masks.

CORSET is sculpted asymmetric shape. The material is raw silk very finely wrinkled on the surface. The trimming is made from sheer silk ribbons twisted together. A scarf from the same material is attached from one side. Decorative stitching in dark blue.

The SKIRT is plain on the front and the back is constructed in a wavy shape, which I picked up from the ceiling on this picture. www.gaudidesigner.com/data/fil… Made from raw silk with ruffled sheer silk showing from the opening.

ACCESSORIES: I was inspired by the stained glass windows on the jewelry, so the necklace is made of thin colored glass connected with very thin silver pins. The hair piece and the bracelet are the same style.

For the DAY LOOK I chose to make a skirt/jacket ensemble.

JACKET was inspired by the roof of the building, which represents a dragon back. Fitted frame with asymmetric curves. Pumped up shoulders. Made from artificial textured leather.

SKIRT is inspired by the curvy windows. Asymmetric shape. Made from suede finished material with a little bit of stretch in it. Decorative stitching.

SHOES are soft leather platforms.

ACCESSORIES are glazed ceramic broche and discrete earrings. The broche and the purse are in a shell shape, which Gaudi used as a decorative element in the building.
